Will I?
I was on my way home when I chanced upon this malay couple who seemed to be in their late thirties. What made me noticed them was that the wife was munching on roasted chestnuts while talking to the hubby. That's perfectly normal right? Anyway I was hungry at that time so the first sight was to gazed upon those hot nuts. Hehehe...
I soon boarded my bus and coincidentally sat infront of them. At this point, my mind started to wonder and my ears were slightly paying attention to their one sided conversation. Not my fault k? The woman's voice was audible.. or either that I have super bionic hearing.
Why I say one sided? From the time I noticed them till they alighted a few stops before mine, all I could hear was that woman's voice. Not even a squeek frm the guy.. I mean maybe he did reply to her but my assumption was that the woman was doing all the yaking and the guy doing all the listening.
It got me thinking. Would I end up like that once I'm married? I'm already the sort who petpotpetpot at him when I dont like/approve his actions. Would I became worse after we're legally hubby & wife? That thought scared me.
Ladies out there would agree that we never want to nag at the ones we love but if they have done something that requires us to point it out or just highlight it to them, our words & tone would be equivalent to "alamak, mataairku/tunangku/biniku petpotpetpot lagiiii...."
But whenever the reversal happens. "takde lah... I bukan nak marahkan u..I kan ur guy/tunang/hubby u.. U tahukan biler I tegurkan u maknanyer I sayang kat u kan??"
Hmmm.. Doesn't that sounds too familiar.
I'm not a feminist that wants 100% autonomy. I still prefer my guy pampering me like a little princess. Letting me have the first bite of the ice cream, holding the door for me, protecting me while we try to squeeze our way to Ngee Ann Plaza through the madpacked Wisma Atria linkway and the list goes on.
So far, from what I realise, he always switches off when I nag at him. And as for me, I only realise that I'm actually nagging when I see no response from him. That's where I take the hint. So for now, my solution is that when I'm angry, I would just shut up and buat bodoh ajer. The irritating thing is that he knows he had made me mad but still purposely ask me "Did I do something wrong?" with his innocent look. As usual I would just shake my head in disagreement. Kirakan action merajuk lah ni but slalu tak pakai punyer.. He's resistant to me being merajuk. Chett!! Buang karen betul!
But once I cool down, I will say it out to him and inform him what I dont like or just tell him that I'm mad at him and often he knows that I am. Somehow he can read my mind like an open book whereas I'm lost in his complicated mind.
I guess I just shot off like a loose canon when I'm mad. And most of the time, the mouth speaks out faster than the mind could actually process and often land me in hot soup. Very the hot soup..
I'm trying not to do that anymore but as they say "leopard never change its spots" But than again, I'm not a spotted leapord that escaped from the Mandai zoo right? Spotted with panau pernahlah but hey that was ages ago!!! Zaman primary school.. Enuff of that for now.. I'll keep tat story for another day.
Another thought that I pondered upon..
What do you call Roasted Chestnuts when directly translated to Malay? :P
